Students are taught:
- Phonetics for decoding (sounding out words)
- Word structure for encoding (spelling)
- Methods to improve following written and spoken directions
- Leveled Reading with take home sheets
- Basic Math: counting, patterns, time, measurement, and more
- Fine motor skill development: writing, coloring, cutting, glueing
- Comprehension (vocabulary/critical thinking applications)
- Visualization (developing mental pictures)
- Self-confidence
- Desire and enjoyment of education
Who should take this class:
Any 3 1/2 to 5 year old:
– Who is just starting to learn letter names and sounds and simple math
– Who is ready to start or accelerate reading and math abilities,
– Who will benefit from personalized study and attention
– Who has a mom that would enjoy and benefit from peer and professional interaction
Class Information:
Classes held for three hours a day – two or three days a week depending on location
Limited parent participation required – Keeping the student to adult ratio small
